LEND and Learn Monthly TA Series: Hear from AMCHP about opportunities for LENDs to partner with Title V programs!

The LEND and Learn session was held Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 3:00 PM ET. The date of the LEND and Learn event was changed due to the observance of the September holidays. The September session will focus on Title V collaboration and partnership opportunities for LEND programs. The session will be facilitated by Paige Bussanich, Associate Director for Child Health and Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN) at The Association of Maternal & Child Health Programs (AMCHP).

The session provided:

• A brief overview of Title V opportunities for LEND programs and their trainees,
• Examples of existing LEND/Title V partnerships and an opportunity for LEND programs to discuss and ask questions.

ITAC's LEND and Learn Monthly TA Series is an opportunity for LEND leadership and faculty to gather once a month to discuss priority TA topics and to learn from each other! Each month will focus on a different topic. A different LEND program will lead each session, including a 15-minute presentation and 45 minutes of discussion. Please note that this is not a webinar series. Instead, it is designed to be an informal opportunity for LENDs to connect with one another on topics identified as top TA needs.  DBP programs are welcome to participate.

Presenter:

Paige Bussanich Falion, MS, is the Associate Director for child health and children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN) at The Association of Maternal & Child Health Programs (AMCHP). In her role, she directs the HRSA MCHB-funded State Public Health Autism Resource Center, which provides technical assistance to the state autism grantees as well as technical assistance to all 59 state and jurisdiction Title V programs as they seek to advance systems of care for CYSHCN and people with disabilities. Ms. Falion has over ten years of extensive experience working with individuals with disabilities in research, evaluation, and outreach settings. She is a former Wisconsin LEND fellow and has experience as a facilitator for a psychoeducational group for autistic adults. She received her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Alabama and her Master of Science in Human Development & Family Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Human Ecology, where her research was focused on parental attributions for positive behaviors in autistic children.
