Brittney L. Goscicki

Vanderbilt Kennedy Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities, Kennedy Krieger Institute: Baltimore, MD

"Beyond her superb mentorship, for the past three years Brittney has served as Director of the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center’s Volunteer Advocacy Project, or VAP, which has led to several of her studies.  An important “systems change” project of the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center’s University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities’ (VKC-UCEDD), the VAP involves a large-scale, statewide advocacy program for teachers, parents, and advocates, all of whom each fall attend a 12-week, 3-hour per week workshop. The focus of the VAP is on Special Education law, IDEA, and the IEP process. Over this multi-year period, Brittney has done a masterful job in coordinating the program, providing lectures and ensuring that everything runs smoothly for all (50-70) participants, in Nashville and surrounding sites."
