Effective Advocacy for Maternal and Child Health Issues in Indiana and Beyond
Trainees have pre- and post-work, and they are provided with a variety of handouts.
Pre-work:
- Identify your state and federal elected officials
- Identify professional organizations for your discipline that provide policy updates and action alerts
Handouts:
- Relevant bills from current or most recent state legislative session related to MCH (to be used for a small group activity on giving testimony).
Post-work:
- Send a letter to state Representatives about an MCH Issue
- Send an email to the Congressional delegation about MCH Issue
- Meet with state Representative
- Meet with Congressional delegation
- Give testimony on the issue
