Colorado LEND Family Mentorship Experience
Trainees learn from families through observation, conversation, and community interaction. This knowledge is acquired safely, as trainees are the learners with their families, not the experts. The program's cornerstone is the Family Mentorship assignment, in which fellows engage in home and community visits with families. Fellows reflect on their experiences in writing and during class discussions. (Fall, 2012)
