Journal Publication: Child-parent psychotherapy with infants hospitalized in the neonatal intensive care unit
Product Description:
The specialized medical environment of the NICU can threaten the development of a nurturing and secure caregiving relationship and potentially derail an infants development. Many interventions in the NICU focus on either the parents mental health or the infants neurodevelopmental functioning. An alternative approach is to implement a dyadic intervention focused on the developing parentinfant relationship. This article describes the adaptation of childparent psychotherapy (CPP) for the NICU.
