Product Description:
A feeding disorder is identified when a child is unable or refuses to eat or drink a sufficient quantity or variety of food to maintain proper nutrition (Babbitt et. al., 1944). The greatest period of risk from poor nutrition occurs in early infancy, a time of rapid physical growth and brain development. Without sufficient nutrition, the child may experience the negative side effects of malnutrition and/or dehydration. In addition, insufficient calories or nutrients place the child at long-term risk for behavioral and developmental problems (Scrimshaw, 1998).
