Product Description:

Effective communication is critical for success in a graduate education program and in leadership positions. This class is required for all students matriculating in the MHA and MPA/Health programs and is highly recommended for all LEND fellows. The course covers key topics including writing, referencing, and presenting. It also covers the ethical conduct of research and the protocols required by UMASS in preparation for conducting research. Course assignments are designed to assess and improve your writing and presenting skills and introduce some key issues that you will address in your Shriver courses. We cover conventions to which the LEND program adheres, so that students will be fully prepared for classes in the LEND program. Additionally, this course enables students to begin to think about teamwork, their own skills and the ways that highly functional teams work.
