Instructional goals for special needs students, and actually ALL students, can be achieved by using a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) instructional framework. UDL applies multiple curricular provisions through variation in design of goals, methods, materials, and assessments of instruction. The framework is explained through practical examples from a Rhode Island UDL implementation project.
