Our Fall 2023 installment of the Admin Essentials Series will be an engaging hosted roundtable with a focus on evaluation of the UCEDD core grant. Our facilitators will share their process, strategies, survey methods and discuss successes and challenges. Together, we will explore creative strategies and promising practices across the Network in this area.
Presenters:
Dr. Anthony G Cahill, Center Evaluation Director and Director of the Division of Disability and Health Policy at the Center for Development and Disability in the University of New Mexico’s School of Medicine. He works in the areas of evaluation and research methodology; outcomes and performance-based research; the design, implementation and analysis of large-scale mail and telephone surveys; and applied statistical analysis. He received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Disability Section of the American Public Health Association and the Performance Excellence Award from the New Mexico Department of Health. With his colleagues at the University of Kansas, he was the recipient of the National Research Award from the American Rehabilitation Counseling Association for the article The Psychosocial Impact of Hurricane Katrina on Persons with Disabilities and Independent Living Center Staff Living on the American Gulf Coast in Rehabilitation Psychology. He has served as Section Chair and Program Chair of the Disability Section of the American Public Health Association, as Program Chair of the New Mexico Evaluator’s Society, as Chair of the New Mexico Governor’s Commission on Disability, and as a member of the Professional Advisory Group of the American Association on Health and Disability and the New Mexico Disability and Health Advisory Council. He currently is a member of the Researcher Engagement Task Force of the American Association on Health and Disability’s All of Us Research Program.
Laurie Fleming, Program Manager for the Vanderbilt Kennedy University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities. She works in grant management, program development and evaluation, and is the NIRS data coordinator for the UCEDD. She works closely with the LEND and IDDRC leadership and facilitates the Center’s Community Advisory Council. She is involved with statewide alliances on inclusive higher education and employment for people with disabilities.

The meeting is open to all UCEDD Directors, faculty and staff.
