The University of Kansas (KU) has selected a proposal submitted by the KU Life Span Institute for funding under the Research Rising initiative. The goal of the project, “Advancing Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research at KU,” is to transform understanding of and support for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The multidisciplinary team is led by principal investigator John Colombo, professor of psychology and director of the Life Span Institute. Columbo is joined by Matt Mosconi, Director of the Kansas Center for Autism Research and Training; Karrie A. Shogren, Director of the KU Center on Developmental Disabilities; Olivia Veatch, assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the KU Medical Center; and Peter Smith of the KU School of Medicine.
