AUCD’s Community Inclusion Team supports the University Centers for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) Network in partnership with the Administration for Community Living.
AUCD’s Maternal and Child Health Engagement supports the Autism CARES Programs, including LEND and DBP Programs.
AUCD’s Public Health Team works to create health promotion and public health efforts that include people with disabilities.
AUCD Emerging Leaders are a part of a community that includes trainees, early career professionals, self-advocates, and family members from AUCD member Centers and Programs.
The Multicultural Council (MCC) provides leadership and assists the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) to respond to the requirements for inclusion, diversity, and cultural competence as set forth in the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act of 2000. The Council supports AUCD to implement its Strategic Map with an emphasis on growing diverse and skilled leaders, and modeling diversity, equity, and inclusion with and on behalf of people with developmental disabilities and their families throughout the Network.
The Council membership consists of one voting representative from a member Program that is endorsed by the Director of the Program including UCEDDs, IDDRCs and LENDs. The Council welcomes the participation of other individuals who are interested in advancing the vision, mission, and values of AUCD within the contexts of individuals at risk for and with developmental disabilities and their families from under-served populations and communities in the U.S. territories, and tribal nations.

The online Directory is used to identify organizational members with particular areas of expertise. For this purpose, organizational members are encouraged to complete the sections on Professional Areas of Interest and Expertise and Vita or Bio, as well as upload a photo, and indicate your Council membership.
MCC news and updates are shared via the MCC listserv and MCC slack workspace. To engage with MCC, you are encouraged to join both platforms.

Slack is a cloud-based instant messaging platform. Updated MCC meeting minutes and post-meeting/webinar discussions are shared on the slack workspace.

The LifeCourse Nexus at the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s Institute for Human Development hosted its 8th annual Charting the LifeCourse (CtLC) Showcase in Kansas City April 22-25. Amazing speakers filled the Showcase including keynote speaker Chris Worth, a CtLC Ambassador/Fellow and a Ph.D. student at the University of Missouri-Saint Louis. Chris spoke about his journey of self-discovery and expression through outlets such as art. Through his journey, Chris discovered the importance of risk as a positive factor for emerging adults as it gives them room to dream. More
