Mary Ellen Heiner is currently a Coordinator of Projects Sr. and has been working at the Institute for Disability Research, Policy & Practice (IDRPP) at USU since July of 1984. Mary Ellen is an instructor for the Interdisciplinary Disability Awareness and Community-Engaged Learning (IDACEL) course (SpEd 5500). In 2018 she became the Proposal Development Coordinator for the IDRPP, which entails preparing budgets for proposals submitted to state and federal funding agencies as well as formatting and editing proposal submissions. Mary Ellen is also the coordiantor for the National Information Reporting System (NIRS), an essential requirement that enables the IDRPP to maintain their funding as a University Center for Excellent in Developmental Disabilities. She is the copy editor for the new IDRPP Developmental Disabilities Network Journal (DDNJ). This entails editing, proofing, and formatting all manuscripts that are submitted to the journal for publication. Mary Ellen is also an approved dissertation/thesis editor for the graduate school and has edited over 1,000 dissertations and thesis for USU students.
