Joyce Masterton DNP, APRN, CPNP-PC, PMHS
Joyce Masterton is a pediatric nurse practitioner who has specialized in childhood neurological, developmental, and behavioral disorders for the past 15 years at the University of Illinois Child and Youth Center. Completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI, and earned her Master of Science at Rush University in Chicago. Completed the post-masters Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Illinois at Chicago and earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice. Her published DNP project focused on evidence-based research to improve referrals to preschool special education for children identified with developmental delays in pediatric primary care.
Bboard-certified nurse practitioner in pediatric primary care and a certified pediatric mental health specialist. Active member of the Developmental, Behavioral, and Mental Health special interest group for NAPNAP and Society of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics involved in preparing pediatric nurse practitioners to manage children with developmental disorders.
Has practiced nursing for 40 years in various roles and clinical settings, serves as clinical preceptor, and guest lecturer to pediatric nurse practitioner students at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Nursing.
