Reporting to the Executive Director of the Institute on Disabilities, and receiving additional supervision from the Assistant Dean of Finance and Administration for the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD), the Associate Director of Finance and Administration leads all aspects of the financial operations of the Institute on Disabilities and supports as needed, the Research Administration unit in the CEHD.
The Associate Director provides expertise, guidance, and timely and accurate support to principal investigators (PIs) while working with sponsors and Temple University administrators regarding the submission of grants and contract proposals.
The Associate Director independently performs highly complex work, such as managing pre- and post- award grants and contracts; supervising and participating in the preparation of various budgets, financial statements, and reports; directing the maintenance of general and subsidiary ledgers, accounts receivable, revenue distribution, and operating expenses; establishing system controls for new financial systems and developing procedures to improve existing systems; collaborating with CEHD administrative staff and participating as a member and manager of the College's sponsored project administration team; liaising with constituent groups within and outside the University; and promoting the Institute on Disabilities at the College, University, State, and National levels.
