PATHS Program - Student Highlights

October 21, 2024

The PATHS Program is grateful to have some of the best Aggies to work alongside our students in an advising role.  They support them in their academic pursuits and social-emotional well being, and without a doubt, their guidance and mentorship is very much appreciated and valued by both our staff and students.

The PATHS Program is grateful to have some of the best Aggies to work alongside our students in an advising role.  They support them in their academic pursuits and social-emotional well being, and without a doubt, their guidance and mentorship is very much appreciated and valued by both our staff and students.

This month, we will spotlight four of them:

Amelie Quesada and is currently a senior at Texas A&M studying Allied Health! Her goal after graduating in December is toattend nursing school and eventually become a registered nurse. She is from Laredo, TX, a small city located on the Mexican border. As someone who aspires to help others in the future, she loves being a PATHS advisor. Her favorite part of this experience is building relationships with students and watching them grow and succeed over time. She states that the advisor position is immensely rewarding and has taught her to be a better communicator and listener over the past few months.

Ramya Tulasi, an MS Entrepreneurial Leadership student at Texas A&M University's - Mays Business School, hails from India and dreams to become a visionary entrepreneur. As a PATHS Advisor, she loves guiding students to balance their personal and professional lives, fostering independence and fulfilling college experiences. Interestingly, Ramya is a meditation practitioner and the driving force behind Healing Circle, a youth-led organization promoting holistic well-being for students.

Esteban Caneva is studying Sports Management.  He was born and raised in Barranquilla, Colombia; however his hometown since 2015 has been Kerrville, Texas. His dream job is working as marketing manager for a soccer club. His favorite part of working with the PATHS Program is empowering and motivating these students to reach for their goals and noticing those small results everyday. One interesting fact about him is that he loves traveling, especially working abroad either as an intern or volunteer.

Sriram Balasubramanian is completing his Masters in Data Science from Fall 23 and is currently in his 2nd year and will be graduating by the end of next spring semester. His hometown is Chennai, Tamil Nadu located in the southern part of India. Sriram’s dream job is to own a start-up and develop something that helps the society. He states that his favorite thing about being a PATHS Advisor is that he gets to make new friends and also help the students grow personally and professionally to become the best version of themselves. An interesting fact about him is that he can speak 2 languages and understand nearly 5 languages!

It is evident that our students have a unique experience to work with these Texas A&M Aggies!  These advisors enrich our students' cultural competence while exposing them to different cultures and diverse areas of study.
