Truckee Meadows Accessible
Product Description:
We are the students of Professor George McKinlays Disability Issues in Health Ecology class. Instead of sitting in a classroom all day and reading about the ADA and disabled persons, our teacher is having us get out in the world and experience what it means for our community to be ADA compliant. Each week we will be on a different adventure. The purpose of The McKinlay Project is to document our experience in testing the ADA compliance in the City of Reno and University of Nevada and to demonstrate how ones own knowledge, beliefs, and experiences incluence ones perception of disability.
The site is a component of work performed by students enrolled in the UNR course CHS360. It seeks disseminate the ideas, approaches and actions undertaken by students as they formulate knowledge through change.
