ACS The Use of TYZE.com to Enhance Social Inclusion for Individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities
Product Description:
Families that had used the www.tyze.com website to enhance social inclusion for their children with developmental/intellectual disabilities were surveyed to determine the utility of the site. Responses were gathered through focus groups, phone interviews, and on-line surveys.
The technical difficulties in using the site discouraged most families, especially when site features were changed after the site was sold to a new owner. The young adults and families that did use the site primarily used it for keeping members of the social network informed of news and activities, rather than enhancing social inclusion.
