PCIT and ESDM: Overlap, complimentary components, and potential conflicts of prominent interventions for young children with autism

While children are often referred to both ESDM and PCIT. Little information is available about their overlap, complimentary components and the potential conflicts that might occur for families participating in both interventions concurrently or sequentially. This poster will discuss how these interventions worked together in a 2 year old girl with ASD. Benefits and challenges of participating in both interventions with be presented, along with behavioral outcome data. Perspectives of ESDM provider, PCIT therapists and the participating family will also be included. Future directions in research will be recommended based on the information gathered.
