Product Description:

This breakfast is an educational event for federal, state and local government officials. It is attended by parents, advocates and agency providers. Reports were developed to be distributed to all attendees but specifically legislators in order to inform them of the most pressing needs of the IDD population living in our geographic area, that is, New York State. This years presentation focused on living wage for Direct Support Professionals. Increasing residential opportunities to meet the needs of New Yorkers with I/DD. Supporting special education schools to narrow the teacher compensation gap. Providing special education schools a comparable tuition increase with the state aid increase. Supporting for Early Intervention (EI) programs to address 25 years of flat/decreasing rates. Investing in financial stability for clinics that serve people with developmental disabilities.
