The SHEIDD Project: Building Community Capacity to Support the Sexual Health of Youth with I/DD

In 2016 the Multnomah County Health Department Youth Sexual Health Equity Program (MCHD YSHEP) was awarded a federal Innovative Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program (iTP3) grant. The Sexual Health Equity for Individuals with I/DD (SHEIDD) project promotes comprehensive sexuality education and support for youth ages 14-21 experiencing I/DD. MCHD YSHEP coordinates a county-wide team which takes form as the SHEIDD Community Advisory Group (CAG). SHEIDD uses collaborative strategies to develop resources that support the sexual health education for young people with I/DD
