This article provides an overview of the basics of reflective
supervision. Reflective supervision is an important component
of the training of professionals in the area of infant mental
health. This supervision style focuses on the collaboration
between the supervisor and student as the vehicle to
analyze the students work. This article illustrates the principles
of reflective supervision by using two sample cases.
These two cases were created based on the most common
issues that arise in our clinics at University of Southern California
University Center for Excellence in Developmental
Disabilities (USC UCEDD) at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.
