This study examined the perceptions of family coaching and culturally and linguistically diverse families participating in early intervention in a southwestern state. Twenty-two service providers were interviewed and the resulting themes were: coaching can be an effective and empowering form of service provision; coaching may not be ideal for all; and professionals need extensive training to be effective coaches.
