The Peer Mentor Experience: Mentoring Students with Developmental Disabilities in a University Program

This article will examine the role and impact of the peer mentor experience at Think College Vermont, a fully inclusive post-secondary education program for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Undergraduate students provide academic, social and vocational support to students through a two-year certificate program. Since the programs inception in 2010, over 100 undergraduate students have worked as peer mentors.
