RRTC - Straight From the Horses Mouth: increasing self-report in mental health assessment in people with intellectual disability
Product Description:
People with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) have high rates of mental health conditions, yet these needs are often unrecognized and unmet. One factor contributing to this problem is the lack of cognitively accessible measures that would allow people with IDD to self-report symptoms of mental distress. Clinicians and researchers have relied on proxy reporters to understand the health needs of people with IDD, but evidence suggests that proxy reporters under report symptoms.
