Product Description:
Survey of 345 state agency foster parents regarding their participation in parental involvement activities on behalf of the children in their care. Activity, efficacy, and social support features were examined for all foster parents, as well as for typical and kinship foster parents. Participants were found to be moderately involved in parental involvement activity, supportive of partnership-focused roles with schools, and assisted by social support from representing professional and spiritual guidance sources. Higher levels of parental involvement activity were associated with foster parents who reported higher levels of knowledge of the special education process and higher levels of support from sources representing professional and spiritual guidance.
