The purpose of this study was to (a) investigate how educational professionals addressed the four communicative competencies in the individualized family service plans/individualized education programs (IFSPs/IEPs) of 212 students with complex communication needs, and (b) explore potential relationships between student characteristics and the communicative competencies addressed in their educational plans.
