Presented on the use of restraint and seclusion in SPecial Education environments with students and in disability support settings such as group homes, work settings, etc. Presented data on the rates and use of these techniques and alternatives that are less punitive in nature and more effective. Discussed the need for dialogue with policymakers, teachers, and caregivers in general on the need for positive approaches to maladaptive behavior.
