Product Description:
This lunch and learn training module is designed to promote and maximize quality of life, health, and quality health care for individuals living with disability. Approximately 20.6 % of people living in NH live with a disability; 19% of NH households have one or more children with special health care needs. This module provides health care providers with the opportunity to learn about disability and people with disabilities to better support the overall health of their communities and to enhance the level of care provided during health visits. Topics addressed include: Access issues, Experience greater health risks, Lower preventive screening rates, Social procedural barriers, Attitudinal barriers, and, Environmental barriers. This module was developed as part of the Disability and Public Health Project, The DPH project is a collaboration between the NH Division of Public Health Services and the University of New Hampshire's Institute on Disability/UCED.
