Supporting Children with Disabilities in the Classroom and the Home

Students with disabilities tend to be disproportionately affected when it comes to discipline in schools. Trends observed are that these students either receive far more or far fewer discipline referrals (or ODRs) than their peers. This presentation will review the most common disability models and barriers faced by students with disabilities. Inclusion strategies from the CDC, braided with PBS guidelines, and strategies for teams (teachers, youth, and their families) will be discussed.
