This course is designed to assist independent Living professionals in understanding how to put independent living philosophy to work. It features how to apply the principles and philosophy of independent living to day-to-day situations, discussing and looking at how bureaucratic requirements may impact those decisions. It also includes a review of the statute governing Centers for Independent Living and the first two Standards for Independent Living: (a) Philosophy and (b) the Provision of Cross-Disability Services.
