Product Description:
The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB) governs elementary and secondary education in the United States. It is important legislation for students with disabilities because it ensures that they also reach high academic standards, just like other children in America's public schools today. NCLB contains four basic education reform principles: stronger accountability for results, increased flexibility and local control, expanded options for parents, and an emphasis on teaching methods that have been proven to work. The accountability for results principle has the potential to significantly improve the educational results demonstrated by all children with disabilities. The purpose of this document is to clearly describe what the accountability provisions are and how they affect children with disabilities.
