Product Description:
This article describes the rationale for the inclusion of a Family Mentorship as a means for enabling seminary students to appreciate the challenges to faith inclusion for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. We describe the development of a family mentorship program as a collaborative between a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities and a local seminary, and present effectiveness data for the Mentorship. Finally we offer recommendations for other seminaries and UCEDDs that would want to establish family mentorship programs.
