Product Description:
Sensory impairments are a diverse set of problems in sensing stimuli using one of the five major senses, converting the environmental information into nervous signals, passing those signals through the nervous system to the brain, and/or accurately interpreting objects and events in the world. Definitions, classifications, and causes of sensory impairments vary for the five sensory systems. This chapter focuses impairments of vision and hearing and will briefly discuss olfaction, gustation, and touch.
