The purpose of this course is to provide an opportunity to evaluate and understand the legal processes, public policy and social issues that affect the lives of persons with developmental disabilities and their families. With an understanding of local, regional, state, and national forces and trends practitioners and future leaders in the field of developmental disabilities will have improved capacity to assist persons with disabilities and their families in achieving desired goals and outcomes.
