This course has three modules. The first module focuses on an overview of cultural competency and the need to first examine one?s own biases and lenses through which differences and diversity are viewed. Disability will be considered from the perspective of different cultural and ethnic groups. The second module explores the skill set that is required so that providers might become more culturally competent and the importance of cultural competency on the service delivery system and the elimination of health disparities. The last module explores the cultural competency of agencies and the use of an analytical model and blueprint by which a leader might assess the organization and develop strategies to develop even greater cultural competency within the service delivery system itself.
