Epilepsy, also called a seizure disorder, is a neurological (brain) disorder. Individuals who have epilepsy may have a few or a lot of seizures at any time. Epilepsy affects many people, especially young children and the elderly. David King-Stephens, MD, a Neurologist at the University of California, San Francisco, answers questions about epilepsy on this CD. Dr. King-Stephens talks about what happens when someone has a seizure, types of seizures, and how doctors treat seizures. The audio files were produced by Smarter Medical Care, Inc for Project Access. Project Access is a federal grant that was awarded to the University of Southern California, University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities at Children?s Hospital Los Angeles.
