NCEO - Technical Report 47 - A Summary of the Research on the Effects of Test Accommodations: 2005-2006
Product Description:
Six years have elapsed since the passage of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (Public Law 107-110), and among its effects-principally on state accountability measures but also across other testing contexts from college admissions and professional credentialing to diagnostic/intelligence assessment, classroom evaluation, and beyond-is an increasing convergence of longtime policy and psychometric discussions about the use of various test accommodations and score interpretations from accommodated and non-accommodated administrations. At the same time, much work remains. The purpose of this report is to provide an update on the state of the research on testing accommodations as well as to identify promising areas of research to further clarify and enhance understanding of current and emerging issues.
