An Assessment of Components in ADHD Evaluations

Requests for evaluations for Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) are common referrals for children referred to outreach behavioral health clinics. ADHD evaluations are generally conducted via parent interview and rating scales completed by a child?s parent and teacher. Additional observation or assessment is occasionally completed. Observations can be conducted in the clinic and can also be conducted in the school setting. Additional assessment may include assessment of intellectual ability or academic achievement. The purpose of the current poster is to examine the components of ADHD evaluations that are most predictive of eventual diagnosis or lack of diagnosis. Future directions for research are also discussed.
