Product Description:

Early behavioral treatments for individuals with autism used basic principles of learning to create highly effective teaching int4eractions. Their success was largely a result of highly structured training procedures, which were developed specifically to maximize learning potential. Distractions were minimized, prompts were delivered in a precise sequence, practices were massed, and consequences were delivered in a reliable, immediate, and frequent manner. These tightly controlled training procedures were also known as ?discrete trial training? and have been found to be quite effective at teaching new and complex skills. Indeed, these intensive teaching procedures led to impressive gains in language, social, and adaptive skills for many individuals with autism.
