Poster: The Use of AAC to Support Alternative Assessment Portfolio Goals

Single subject case study was designed to support Vermont?s Alternative Assessment Portfolio (VTAPP) (Vermont Department of Education (VDOE), 2009) requirements for the achievement of specific physical science learning goals. The participant, a child with a severe traumatic brain injury (TBI), took part in an Response to Intervention (RtI) instructional module designed around augmented communication input to develop receptive knowledge and expressive use of content specific language.Intervention and the participant?s resulting performance contributed directly to measures of achievement on several of the student?s VTAPP physical science learning goals.
