Strategies for Preschool Intervention in Everyday Settings (SPIES) is a curriculum demonstrating how intervention to promote children's development can be embedded in the context of young children's daily activities. A videotape and print version is designed for use by those who provide preservice and inservice education to preschool, child care, Head Start, early childhood special education and other personnel who serve children with special needs. This version is available in English and Spanish. A condensed version is available on CD ROM. Descriptive information is available on line at http://www.spies.cpd.usu.edu/ A web based version of the curriculum designed to introduce family members to the concept of embedded instruction is located at http://www.spiesforparents.cpd.usu.edu/ The curriculum has been field tested extensively and has been demonstrated to be effective in increasing participants' knowledge of intervention strategies. It is highly rated by instructors and participants.
