Poster: Children with autism spectrum disorders in China: What resources are available to children & families?
Product Description:
It is estimated that 405,172 children in China have an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). These children do not receive the same diagnostic and early intervention services or inclusive education as do their peers in developed countries. Their families face tremendous hardships, not only due to limited financial and educational resources and little legal protection, but they are also vulnerable due to the lack of social supports that exist for families with children with disabilities in China. Few previous studies have identified the resources and emotional supports that are available for these children and their families. These are the questions that the current study seeks to address.
