Product Description:
Many local organizations approach the Nevada Center for Excellence in Disabilities (NCED) for support throughout the year. A wide variety of finan- cial assistance is requested for disability related events and organizations.
The CAC administers the NCEDÂs new Community Partner Fund (CPF). This fund enables community organizations to apply for mini-grants of up to $1,000. Five mini-grants ($5,000) are awarded twice a year.
Requests for proposals are sent out to community organizations six weeks prior to the CACÂs January and June meetings. CAC members receive the completed applications and an easy-to-use evaluation matrix one week prior to the CAC meeting.
At the CAC meeting, CAC members briefly discuss each mini-grant, ask questions and share their thoughts on each grant as it relates to the NCEDÂs core values. The CAC then votes on the top five to be awarded.
