Part of Career and Life Studies Certificate (CLSC) program, the postsecondary education program for young adults with intellectual disabilities. Course Description ? This course will focus on key topics and life skills essential for transitioning into adulthood and promote the students? capacity for independent living. Guest speakers along with program staff will present information and skill building exercises to increase the students? knowledge in the following content areas: Healthy Living, Interpersonal Relationships and Sexuality, Budgeting, Money Management & Consumerism, Advocacy, Assertiveness, Conflict Management, Diplomacy and Citizenship, Time Management, Safety in the Home and the Community, Housing Options ? Selecting and Managing a Household, Values, and Leisure.
