Course Description - Problem solving and decision-making are important skills for life. The ability to retrieve and process information and, in turn, propose viable solutions to a problem represent skills that will increase the students? competence, independence and self-esteem. Problem solving involves using available information to identify and create possible solutions. It?s a systematic processing strategy in which the student is taught to define and analyze a situation, identify potential problems, and then identify and execute a solution. The final step is reviewing the outcomes of one?s actions to determine satisfaction/success or assess the need for alternate/additional action.
