Part of Career and Life Studies Certificate (CLSC) program, the postsecondary education program for young adults with intellectual disabilities. Course Description - This topics course will introduce students to the techniques required to self-monitor and to self-instruct for successful outcomes in college and employment settings. Students will learn the tools to self-monitor, including scales, checklists, assessments, reflections, and video modeling. Topic areas will include stress management, health and wellness, employment, and academics in a variety of settings and how to best approach them. The UD campus and community will serve as an exploratory resource to allow for self-monitoring and self-instruction. During the last week of class, students will have the opportunity to present on a topic that is important and necessary for his/her success.
