Institute on Disability and Human Development: Chicago, IL . - In 2008, the Department of Human Services? Division of Developmental Disabilities (DHS-DDD) contracted the Institute on Disability and Human Development (IDHD) at the University of Illinois at Chicago to examine outcomes for individuals transitioning out of Illinois? nine State Operated Developmental Centers (SODCs) between October 1, 2001, and June 30, 2008. The study was guided by seven research questions intending to obtain information on where people moved and how they fared.
