This coaching manual describes how the National Professional Development Center (NPDC) on Autism Spectrum Disorders committed to the use of coaching to meet the Center goals to provide state partners with sustainable, outcome-based professional development and technical assistance that optimized existing resources for effective implementation of evidence-based practices to learners with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). The manual describes the coaching process, including phases and key characteristics of coachingand demonstrates how NPDC applied coaching practices to support and sustain change in early intervention and school personnel competency in implementing evidence-based practices for children and youth with ASD.
