S.1a Web-based surveys to increase disability data
Product Description:
Public health data on prevalence of disability and health behaviors of people with disabilities are primarily gathered using a random sample of telephone surveys from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System conducted annually by the CDC and state public health agencies. The Oregon PWD sample is small and does not include children or PWD who do not use telephones. Detailed data are limited for health behaviors, healthcare access, and other disability topics due to survey length. The Oregon Office on Disability and Health (OODH) has created web-based surveys using SurveyGizmo to illicit more detailed health assessment data from PWD and their caregivers. In addition to our public health survey, we use the web for a Pulse of Oregon survey to gather priorities from the disability community.
