Photoconductive stimulation of neurons grown on silicon using an inverted microscope.
Product Description:
Stimulation of live cultured neurons coupled with imaging of fluorescent indicators is a powerful technique to assess the impact of synaptic activity on neuronal function and protein trafficking. We report an optimized and improved technique for photoconductive stimulation of live neurons. Advantages of this approach include its non-invasive nature and adaptability to spatial manipulation. We demonstrate that the technique can be easily manipulated to achieve spatially selective stimulation of live neurons.
